Since this blogpost (hopefully) is going to be read internationally, and I am not happy with google translate from Swedish to English, this is my own translation. The plan is that all my posts will look the same within time. Here it goes, the tag of April...
Tims april tag föll mig verkligen i smaken, metall, kugghjul och 3d dekor. Så här blev min tolkning...
Tims April tag really got me going, metal, cogwheels and 3d dekorations. This is my interpretation...
Bakgrunden är gjord med distress paint och nya metallic distress paint som jag inte lyckats hitta i Sverige än, man duttar ut olika färger på craft sheeten och drar tagen genom så det blir en slags nästan marmorerad effekt. Istället för metallic färgen så tog jag lite metallic distress stains och duttade ut.
Färgade in med distress dynor för lite djup, och för nästa effekt; när distress painten torkat så reagerar den inte med vatten längre, men det gör distress dynan, så spraya med vatten på och låt bläcket liksom rinna ner längsmed ytan... supercoolt!
Sedan var det dags att patinera metalldekorationerna och det blev tokbra, ser ut som rost! Jag gjorde på samma sätt som med metallblommorna på marstagen, men blandade rena färger direkt på metalldekorationen, värmde med fönen och när färgen nästan helt torkat så torka bort lite färg med en trasa, så metallen lyser genom på sina ställen. Jag blev väldigt nöjd med resultatet och det här kommer jag göra ofta.
The background is made with distress paint and the new metallic distress paints which I haven´t been able to find in Sweden yet. You dab some colours on to the craft sheet and drag the tag through and it gets a kind of marbeleized effect. Instead of the metallic paint I used some metallic distress stains. Then I coloured the tag with different distress ink pads for some depth but also for the next effect. When the distress paint has dried, it doesn´t react with water anymore, but the distress ink pads does, so I sprayed with water and the ink just drips down... supercool!
Then it was time to patinate the metallic embellishments and it turned out really good, looks like rust! I worked the same way as I did with the metallflowers on the March tag, but blended true colours directly to the metallic embellishments, heated with my heat tool and when the paint is almost dry, I wiped off some with a cloth, the metallic finish showing through here and there. I was very pleased with the result and will use this technique often.

Så 4an, Tim använder en av sina plast alpha parts, men de har inte jag så jag tog en 4a ur ett die alfabet från Quick Kutz (Mary Jane Grand complete cookie cutter alphabet set) och stansade den i ganska tjock metallskimrande cardstock, fem gånger och sedan limmade jag ihop dem så det blev en enda tjock 4a. Till sist stansade jag 4an i en bit foil tape sheet från Ranger och klistrade på den överst, och fingermålade distresspaint ovanpå på precis samma sätt som med de andra metalldekorationerna.
Then the number 4 embellishment, Tim used one of his plastic alpha parts, but I don´t have any so I used a number 4 from a die alphabet from Quick Kutz (Mary Jane Grand complete cookie cutter alphabet set) and die cut the number 4 from some pretty thick metallic-looking cardstock five times. I glued them together making a thicker number 4. Finally I die cut the number 4 from a piece of foil tape sheet from Ranger and put it on top, and fingerpainted it the same way as the metallics.
Sedan stämpling, jag stämplade min favorit fjärilsstämpel (Tim Holtz), den är en del av en fyra fjärilar hög stämpel och jag ville bara ha den stora, så jag maskade av den stora fjärilen med washi tejp och färgade in stämpeln med archival ink, tog bort tejpen och bara den stora fjärilen har bläck på sig och enkelt att stämpla på.
För att fylla upp ytan lite så stämplade jag också en arkiv stämpel och en klocka, också från Tim Holtz.
Time for stamping, I stamped my favourite butterflystamp (Tim Holtz), and it´s a part of a four butterflys high stamp and since I only the wanted the large one, I masked it off with some washi tape and inked up with archival ink - removed the tape and only the large butterfly has ink on and easy peasy to stamp.
To fill up some areas of the tag, I stamped an archival and a clock stamp, also from Tim Holtz.
Clearly for art, är ett plastmaterial som man kan värma och forma och jag har använt det förut på två tagar som jag gjorde till förra sommarens födelsedag och bröllopsgåvor, men som jag ännu inte har delat här på bloggen. Den här gången stämplade jag på genomskinlig plast med svart archival ink och värmde först för att få bläcket att torka och sedan häftade jag fast plastfjärilen ovanpå den stämplade fjärilen...

... och värmde igen för att forma vingarna. Man kan värma och forma hur många gånger som helst tills man blir nöjd, jättehäftigt material!

Till slut häftade jag och limmade fast mina dekorationer och washitejp (Tim Holtz) där jag ville ha dem, färgade in ett seambinding band och knöt fast...
